Best Stomach Exercise For A Six-Pack

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

A physique is never complete and impressive without a lean, mean and strong mid section! Not only does a rock hard six-pack abs look damn fine, strong abdominals are vital in many sports and physical activities. In order to obtain fine abdominals, one have to undergo a healthy diet and laser targeted stomach exercises.

Sometimes it is hard to identify which are the effective stomach exercises that you should choose. Not to worry, here we have listed a couple of free easy stomach exercises to help you get you abdominal shield!

Best Stomach Exercise 1: Hanging Leg Raises

This is a powerful exercise for your abdominals. Hang from a bar with your legs hanging straight down. From there, raise your knees toward your rib cage. Do not swing or use momentum, just focus on squeezing your abs. You must keep your abdominals flexed. Use your abdominals to lift your legs up. To obtain maximum effectiveness, go slow and make your abs work harder. If you want to work your oblique, simply raise your knees to one side of your body.

Best Stomach Exercise 2: Side Bridge

Do not underestimate the side bridge. It may look simple but it can give you that burn you would not forget! Lie on your side with your legs straight out. Elevate yourself with one bent arm parallel to the floor. Hold that position for around 30 seconds and then repeat on the other side. Build up to at least 60 seconds on each side of your body.

Best Stomach Exercise 3: Decline Reverse Crunch

The only equipment needed for this exercise is a decline bench. First, hold the top at the end of the bench with both hands and lie on your back. Hold out your legs so that your legs are parallel to the floor. Keep your knees and feet together. Squeeze your abs slowly and draw your knees up towards your ribcage. Keep your abs constantly flexed. Then slowly lower your legs to original position. Do around 20-30 reps.

Best Stomach Exercise 4: Hanging Raise To The Side

This is a fantastic stomach exercise. It really works your oblique and lower abdominals. To execute this, hang from a bar with your legs and feet slightly together. The bar should be high enough so that your toes cannot touch the ground. Slowly raise your knees under control to one side as high as possible. Curl your spine during the process; it is not just about lifting the knees. You have to contract your abs hard at the peak of the movement and then lower your legs to the starting position as slowly as possible. Repeat on the other side. You can either do it all one side or alternate. Do not use momentum to help you in this abdominal exercise.

Best Stomach Exercise 5: Bicycle

The bicycle exercise is one of the best flat stomach exercises. It is named bicycle because of the way the exercise is performed. This is a stomach exercise that really targets the entire abdominal region and also the oblique.

Lie on your back; support your head with your fingers. Draw your knees in towards your chest and lift the shoulder blades off the floor without pulling your head. Like all abdominal exercises, keep your abs in constant tension at all times.

Straighten the left let out while simultaneously turning the upper body to the right, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee. Now switch sides, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee. Do about 20 rotations for each set.

Best Stomach Exercise 6: Crunches On Exercise Ball

This is the stomach exercise where you will be laying on an unstable surface. Lie face up on the exercise ball with lower back on the top of the exercise ball. Support your head with your fingers lightly. Squeeze your abs and curl your torso up. Keep the ball stable throughout the motion. Do about 20 to 30 repetitions.

There you go, six easy stomach exercises for you to do in your fat loss program! Remember, if you want a flat stomach and define abs, you have to combine a healthy diet and cardio training too. Good luck and enjoy!

Amazing Flat Belly Exercises

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

One of the ways to get a flat belly is to engage in rigorous cardio activity. But some kinds of cardio are better than others for this purpose and that is what this article is about: flat belly cardio exercises.

Here are  exercises for a flat belly which I urge you to begin doing today:

1. Pull ups – the pull up is a massive exercise. It mostly works the back muscles, but if you ask a friend to place his or her hand on your abs while you’re doing it, they’ll report that it’s hard as steel. That’s because the abs are straining like crazy. Even doing 5 pull ups is more of a flat belly exercise than 50 sit ups. And yes, even women can do this exercise.

2. Push ups – When you’re doing push ups you need to make sure that your stomach is tucked in. In that way, your abs are working hard all through the push ups. Regardless of the type of push up that you do: horizontal, elevated, or counter elevated, the stomach is still working. Push ups work your entire upper body and they’re a great exercise to flatten your belly.

3. Pull down – this is performed by pulling down the pulley cable and is really a softer version of the pull up (yes I know it sounds weird but they do similar things). When you pull the cable down from above your head down to your waist, you upper body goes through a complete extension which means that your belly muscles are straining. Again, the belly serves a supporting role, but it doesn’t mean that it’s not straining.

4. Running – We all know this cardio activity which is a great exercise for a flat belly. The reason is that our stomach is naturally tucked in while we run (especially during sprinting) so that besides the benefit of calorie burning and fitness enhancement, your stomach muscles are also working in each second in which you run. This means that your developing your abs muscles while you’re running.

5. Swimming – When you’re swimming, your stomach muscles are again working since you have to keep yourself balanced in the water. Again, you’re getting a great cardio workout, but you’re also working out your abdominal muscles. Swimming is an excellent flat belly and upper body exercise since it works the entire upper body muscles.

6. Jumping rope – Jumping rope is a special cardio workout since it’s usually done for a very short period. However, jumping rope is massive cardio and flat belly exercise. When you jump rope, your stomach is held in firmly and is developing as you jump. Just so you’ll know, jumping rope is a massive workout and burns a lot of calories in a very short time.

A brief tips on eating healthy: make sure to avoid fried food and refined food at all cost. Eat well-balanced meals and snacks during the day. Drink plenty of clean, fresh water, basically half your body weight in ounce. If you can manage, no foods 3 hours before bedtime, and your bedtime should be around 10:00 -11:00 at night, not 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. Your body needs to rest, rejuvenate and rebuild it self, and it is doing so between the hour of 10 pm and 2 am. So getting enough sleep at the right time is important in the effort to re sculpting your body.

A Few Easy Ways to Get Ripped Abs – Fast

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

If you’re looking for some easy ways to get ripped abs fast with your current training program, forget the misconception that you need to spend hours working just on your abs.  This is a mistake many bodybuilders – experienced and inexperienced alike – make.

When you are doing squats, bench presses, deadlifts, and lunges, you are still using your abs intensely.  If your abs weren’t working, you’d feel unstable and probably injure yourself.  The ab muscles are the core of your body’s strength; they will be called on for every weight lifting exercise, which is why proper form is so important.

Probably the most important factor of having ripped abs is having a low enough body fat percentage so that they can be clearly visible.  If your body fat is above 10%, you might have great ab muscles, but you still won’t see them in the mirror because there is a layer of fat covering them.

This means you need to up your metabolic rate.  Fortunately, weight training exercises are one of the most effective ways to do this.  Some weight lifting exercise will up your metabolism more than others, though; heavy squats will be more effective than bicep curls.

Another thing to keep in mind is that ripped abs and strong abs can be veery different.  If you do a lot of weighted ab exercises, you may end up causing your ab muscles to grow larger, which would give you the appearance of having a wider waist.  If your body fat level is not low enough, you’ll just end up looking fatter in your middle.

If you want to avoid that and focus on easy ways to get ripped abs fast, your first goal should be getting a low enough body fat level to have your abs show.  Diet is a big factor in this, so it’s wise to consult a personal trainer or nutritionist if you have the funds; if not, consider a diet book or program that will show you how to eat clean and lose body fat.

Smart Stomach Exercises

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Stomach exercises are great because the stomach is one troublesome spot that, when you begin to lose the weight , will appear much more toned and flatter as a result. If you want to tone your abs or get ripped, remember that stomach exercises are only part of the solution.

Exercises for the stomach like sit-ups can be done daily or at every workout session. Abdominal exercises are some of the most vital you can perform, not only because they target a portion of the body often missed by other traditional exercises, but because you can perform these exercises so frequently.

Strengthening exercises for the stomach, should always be followed by a full range of stretches designed to lengthen and tone the muscles. The best abdominal exercises are those that combine aerobic exercise with spot training, but it is a myth that abdominal exercises are all you need to have a flat stomach.

There are four abdominal muscles that form a multi-layered multi- directional girdle around the trunk or core of the body. When performing your stomach exercises concentrate on your obliques, the stomach muscles that run up the side of your stomach and around to your back. These are exercises usually involving a twisting crunch. In this way you’ll exercise your central abdominal or core area for ‘free’ as you go.

The stomach is always a problem area and unfortunately exercises for a particular area don’t result in weight loss from that specific area. For best results with stomach exercises, remember to eat a healthy diet and perform aerobic exercise 3 times a week as well as doing your in addition to abdominal exercises.

The abdominals are some of the most resilient muscles in the body, which makes abdominal exercises one of the few workouts that can be practiced daily without damaging the body. Because of the resilience of abs, a dedicated person can do stomach exercises daily, helping them see results far more quickly than is possible with many other areas of the body. Abdominal exercises, if practiced frequently, can provide rapid and easily seen results, which is greatly encouraging for you.

One of the best things about stomach exercises is that many, if not all of them, can be done at home. Equipment such as crunch machines, specialized crunch benches, and medicine balls can all enhance the abdominal exercises you do in your own home.

Don’t make the mistake of doing hundreds of repetitions of stomach exercises in the hope of getting a flat stomach. Only when your body fat has lowered sufficiently, can your abdominal muscles become tight and visible.

A recent study showed that the classic sit-up is not the best exercise for stronger, flatter stomachs. The best abdominal muscles in the world may be hidden by a stubborn layer of body fat. This is because we are all of different body types. Some of us store fat more readily in the hips, buttocks, and thighs, others store fat excess in the arms and upper back and still others store their fat in the stomach and waist area.

There is no way around it: if you want that trim, defined torso that is so desirable in todays world, you are going to have to do stomach exercises. This is where you need a routine consisting of exercise for lower abdominal muscles. Such a routine helps you define and sculpt the lower abdominals, giving you that chiselled look.

As far as my Diet goes, I would figure that because I was working out I could eat anything I really wanted and it wouldn’t matter…’Wrong again’. Having a good six pack workout is a system of 3 different parts all working together to produce a desired product! Without one of the parts you find it very difficult to achieve your goal.

I soon discovered that because my diet wasn’t changing a lot, my results were very poor. Basically I was putting to much sugar into my diet, too many carbs and poor protein! Now I watch what I eat and have found that I feel 100 times better? The healthy food I am pumping into my body has changed everything. I have more energy for the gym, my thought pattern is sharper and I am happy.

These are some of the major factors in getting a good six pack workout. There is a lot more to it but these facts are the basic picture of what it takes to get 6 pack abs.

The Wrong Six Pack Abs Workout

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

What is a good six pack workout?

I don’t know about you but if you are anything like me, I had allot of trouble for years trying to get a good six pack workout! The one thing I have found that really makes a huge difference in obtaining some six pack abs is INTENSITY IN YOUR WORKOUT…period!

Obviously, there are some other elements that come into a good six pack workout, but for me personally I have found that I started to see the best results when I included high intensity into my workout.

Here are some common mistakes I was making with my workouts

I wasn’t warming up properly, what I mean is I wasn’t getting my heart rate up to a high level. I would cycle maybe run but at a very passive rate. Now, I warm up for ten minutes and it is at a very high impact level of INTENSITY! When you have a good foundation to work from the results will come a lot faster. This is definitely one issue you need to address if you want a good six pack workout!

I wasn’t following a proven plan that WORK’S! I only really use to do a few sit ups and expect to see my abs? What was I thinking? Anyhow, I started to follow a proven plan that consisted of full light weight training over the whole body. Once I started to understand the fundamentals of weight loss around the mid-section I begun to see FAT DROPPING OFF and shape setting in. You must work all muscle groups to gain the best results!

How to Lose Belly Fat in 30 Days

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Are you one of the persons who are struggling to lose belly fat and trying to find out the best way to lose fat quickly? Accumulation of the fat in you belly may result due to many reasons. While you try to lose the belly fat by doing exercises, you must simultaneously consider the type and amount of intake of food that will add to your body fat. It has been proven by the science that your metabolic rate accounts to burning of fat. Increasing the metabolic rate can greatly help in losing belly fat or any other fat on your body. Here are some the best ways to lose belly fat quickly and effectively in 30 days.

Sit up’s: Doing sit up’s can be an easiest and less time consuming way to lose belly fat for achieving good results. Belly fat is nothing but a stored energy. If you want to lose the fat you have to burn excess calories than your actual consumption. For getting fast results and lose fat, sit up’s can be considered as an effective exercise for every type of body.

One of the most common reasons for increasing the fat is the intake of fried food. Fried food contains less nutrient value and mostly empty calories, which finally add up in increasing fat in your body. Hence in order to stop the increase in body fat or to lose belly fat, stay away from taking fried food as far as possible.

Usually people have habits to take late night snacks. This habit mostly adds up in increasing the fat especially the belly fat. Because after taking late night snacks people usually do nothing that will be considered as physical activity that helps in burning fats. So if you are one of the people having such habit of taking late night snack, avoid taking late night snacks, which will help to lose belly fat.

Often people starve to lose belly fat, thinking that starving will help in burning calories in the body. It is wrong thing to starve yourself and exercising with a great effort, since it will not help in burning the fat but on the contrary you will find yourself hungry and drained.

On the other hand many people adopt the strategy to take little food but do no exercise. This will also not help to lose belly fat because with insufficient food intake your body metabolism is slowed down to compensate the lack of food and the rate of burning fat is also slowed down. Instead, if you avoid taking food that is rich in calories and make a habit of regular exercise, it will help a lot and you will get desired results in losing the fats. At the same time, try to intake protein rich diet, which helps in developing muscle mass with no superfluous fat, which will help in burning more calories. Drinking lots of water can also be considered as an important factor in burning calories, since hydration helps in burning more calories along with developing muscle mass.

A similar way to lose fat is to take food in reduced portions and doing exercise daily. As long as the food that you eat is nutritious and its amount is smaller, you can eat what you like. As you are eating in smaller portion you can enjoy all the tastes that you like and since you are eating less and doing optimum exercise, your body will burn fats without having any side effect as in the case of starvation.

Another effective method to lose belly fat is to perform full body exercise. Your metabolic rate can be increased up to 48 hours by doing multi-joint exercises that include legs, back and chest. In this process the fat burning hormones in your body are released which prevent the fat from accumulating.

Once your plan for right workouts to lose belly fat is ready and you are daily going on accordingly it, you should also take care to eat right. When you feed your body with right food that contains more nutrients and fewer calories, you will be sure that you will lose belly fat in 30 days. Also the energy required by your body in doing exercise can be provided from this type of food.

How to Get Ripped Abs in 30 Days?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

If you are trying to figure out how to get ripped abs in less than 30 days, you really do have a very strong sense of imagination and fantasy.

I was just kidding about that you really do need to understand true facts. I can easily explain how to get ripped abs in less than 30 days but it also depends on your current status as well.

For a male with a body fat percentage of 12-14% or a female with a bodyfat percentage of 18-21%, getting ripped abs in 30 days is no biggie, but if you have a body fat beyond this level, you really do need to work longer to get ripped abs.

No matter how fast you need to get those ripped abs, I am going to give you a step by step system that anybody can follow as long as they want to get those ripped abs in the fastest time possible.

Step 1

Commit and Focus.

This may sound lame to you but committing yourself to get ripped abs within 30 days by writing it down somewhere in BIG letters will keep you focused in helping you avoid drifting away from unwanted desires to skip a workout or cheat in your diet.

Step 2

Clean Your Diet.

If you really badly want to get ripped abs in the fastest time possible, then this is the key to your success. If your diet is clean, your fat will smoothly slide off leaving a lean and ripped body that will turn heads.

In order to clean your diet, you need to change your entire view of what diet actually is. Instead going in to why and the reasons, I will tell you exactly what to do.

Eat 5-6 short meals a day every 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Don’t keep your body starving beyond 3.5 hours, or your body will slow down your metabolism which means your body will start storing fat instead of burning.

Eat one portion of lean protein in every meal. Eat two portions of high fiber carbs with glycemic index of less than 50 in every meal. Eat a handful of nuts like almonds and walnuts because healthy fats are important to speed up your fat burning process.

These changes make an 80% contribution to helping you get ripped abs really fast. Ever heard of the saying, “Abs are made in the kitchen”?

It’s time you start believing it because it is so very true.

Step 3

Muscle Building Exercises

Do not worry about bulking up because that will only happen if you increase your calorie intake way beyond your maintenance level. In order to get ripped abs within 30 days, you need to focus on building as much muscle as you can within this short period of time. This goes for those who have a very high bodyfat percentage as well.

By focusing on building as much muscle as you can in less time, your body will have to keep working hard to maintain that muscle mass, which leads your body to burn more and more calories for energy to rebuild the damaged muscle tissue from the workouts while at the same time trying to maintain the muscle mass you already have.

What does this mean? Calorie expenditure is way higher than Calorie input which leads to FAT LOSS!

In order to focus on rapid muscle growth, you need to choose compound exercises that work the major muscles in your body like the Back, Legs and your Chest. When you perform such compound exercises, your body uses smaller muscles for stability and strength, which means you work a lot of muscles groups for each exercise.

Recommended exercises:

Squats
Pushups
Pullups
Chinups
Rows
Deadlifts
Chest Presses

There you go! You have now discovered how to get ripped abs in the fastest time you could possibly imagine.

Stomach Exercise To Lose Belly Fat

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

There is no magical gizmos or high tech gadgets to help you get your abdominal muscle. You have to exercise to flatten stomach and get a lean, defined six-pack. Your dream of getting a sexy body with flat and trim abs is within your reach! Sculpt up with lower abdomen exercise and get rid of those love handles with exercise. Here is how!

Stomach Muscle Exercise

A good abdominal workout program requires high intensity muscular overload and an increase in intensity progressively. Stomach exercise must be performed carefully so that the lower back is supported properly.

Stomach exercise can help build the entire abdomen region because the upper and lower abdominals are not separated and are connected. Of course, there are some stomach exercises that can help build and strengthen specifically the lower and upper abdominal muscles.
Abdominal exercises can help you also gain strong stomach muscles and back muscles. This can reduce the likelihood of back pains and provide protection against injury by efficient response to stress.

Lets have a deeper look into the muscles in the abdominal area. The Rectus abdominals is the muscle that stretches down the stomach from your ribs to the hips. The external and internal oblique run down the sides of the waist and their job is to rotate the torso and assist the abdominals during curling and twisting movements.

Stomach exercises are needed to tone or harden the muscles in that area. Not only that, the layer of body fat that is covering the abs must be burn off and this could be only done with proper eating plan. Try to increase your protein intake and limit your carbohydrates, eating a low carbohydrate diet is said to be one way of tackling flabby abs along with a sensible abs exercise routine, strength training and cardio exercise.

Stomach exercise

Stomach exercise must be followed religiously and is all about frequency rather than intensity. No exercise must be continued if it leads to pain or extreme discomfort. The best stomach exercise program can also help you achieve a flat and tight stomach. Many an abs exercise can be performed on the floor. Like any other muscles, the abdominal muscles will react to resistance training like bicep curls and crunches.

A simple pelvic tilt performed while sitting in a chair can strengthen your abdominal muscles and help support the back.

Best Stomach Exercises

Crunch

Lay on your back and knees bent, lift your shoulders off the floor. The emphasis is on moving the ribs towards the hips.

Reverse Curl

Lay on your back, bend your knees towards the chest. Keep the hips on the floor. Contract your abdominal muscles at the same time. Your lower abdominal exercise program must include reverse curls.

Leg raise

Single leg raise involves raising one leg from the floor. The double leg raise involves raising both legs from the floor at the same time and this works as an abdominal muscle exercise. Lying leg raises are ideal lower abdominal exercise

Abs exercise with the ball

The stability ball is an effective training device for the abs and lower back. Due to the curve of the exercise ball, the lower abdominal muscles get trained better on account of the greater range of motion.

Bicycle

It was ranked the best abdominal exercise by the American Council on Exercise. When performed with the abs muscles pulled, this exercise does great things for you.

Plank

For this exercise program, you need to position yourself for a pushup and hold the pose. Ensure that your body is in one long, straight line from head to toes.

Captains chair

This abs exercise involves standing on a gym chair and gripping the handholds. Press your back against the head pad and slowly lift your knees towards your chest. The back must remain straight.

Postnatal stomach exercise

A lot of women just cannot wait to get back in shape after childbirth. But before they can participate in any postnatal weight loss exercise program, they have to consult their doctor first.

Pelvic tilts and simple abs contractions are an ideal way to start on a postnatal lower abdomen exercise program. Combined with Kegels exercise, you can get your pelvic floor muscles back in shape. Isometric contractions can even be practiced with the baby on your stomach. Stick to a steady lower abs exercise program and watch the flabby skin harden.

Stomach exercise to flatten stomach

Getting a lean defined six-pack abs is a dream for most of us. Millions of dollars are spent yearly in the process of achieving a flat stomach and trim waistline. There are many gadgets that are sold to those seeking an exercise program getting the stomach fat down.

The first step towards a lean waist and flat stomach is to remove the fat that sits on the abs. A combination of cardiovascular exercise program coupled with a low fat diet aimed at preventing fat can do wonders. Stomach exercise program would include the following:

Forward flexion exercises such as sit-ups and crunches.

Rotational exercises such as trunk rotations and standing twists

Stomach Exercise for love handle

Love handles are a misnomer, as all women would love to shun them. Love handles are the ugly fat belts around the waist. This lump of flesh starts at the side of the bra-line and extends all the way down the back. Aerobic exercise aimed at this region can help you shed those love handles. Exercise for love handles involve exercising the oblique muscles to tighten up the sides of the waist. Abs crunches could also do the same.

Here is an easy stomach exercise for the oblique that you can do at home.

Sit upright with a stick across the back of your shoulders. Twist from side to side. Side bends also work wonders on love handles. Keep at it and watch these muscles firm into place.

How To Lose Belly Fat – Fast Way To Burn Belly Fat And Get A Flat Stomach!

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

More than any other part of the body people are always trying to tone up their belly. Well in this article I’ll explain how to lose belly fat fast and permanently. This diet is so effective that you will actually continue to burn fat even when you decide to stop following it and as a result of this there is also no rebound effect, so you keep your results!

So how can I burn more belly fat?

It’s called the calorie shifting diet and the idea behind it is that you burn more fat from eating food. It obviously isn’t that simple however. What you need to do is actually change up the foods you eat on a day to day basis, this causes something called metabolic confusion. You see your body is constantly seeking equilibrium, a balance in all things including your metabolism. When you eat more or less the same diet day by day your body catches on and as a result you will find that you encounter the same results over and over again because your metabolism essentially relaxes because it knows what’s coming. It will do just enough to do the minimum required. However when you start eating a specific plan of different food types from day to day it causes your metabolism to go on alert and become highly active.

It must be hard to do

Nope, not at all. Because you eat 3-4 full meals every day and there is no complex avoidance system of foods that you have to memorize. This is due to the fact that there are guides and even software programs that will tell you exactly what to eat from day to day. Essentially in the end you just need to follow along and know what order of food groups you’re eating for the day and follow ahead with it. Of all the ways in which to lose belly fat this one is far easier and more realistic because it doesn’t involve starving yourself but actually eating!

What is the best way to get six-pack abs and tone the body?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

I’ve just gotten back into working out, I have been doing it for almost a year now; my question is this, what is the best way to get a six-pack and tone the body as well? Would weight training or body-weight training work? I’m already on a diet and drink water. Here is my question again: what is the best way to get six-pack abs and tone the body as well?

How to lose belly fat without losing breasts?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

After years of being slightly underweight, I’ve finally put on 20 lbs. Unfortunately, I earned the extra weight through a steady collegiate diet of beer and pizza. I’ve never had breasts before (they’re now a B) but I love them, as well as my new hips.

It’s just that I can’t STAND my "beer belly". I’ve cut down dramatically on drinking and fast food, but I think I’ll need more than just a diet change to get rid of the belly fat.

I’ve heard that spot training doesn’t really work, but does anyone know if there is some way to lose belly fat without losing my new curves?

unfortunately, fat distribution is automatically done by the body.. there isn’t a way to keep good fat (breasts) and lose the bad fat (stomach). but, what i’d offer up is this. love who you are… no matter what shape your breasts are or your new curves… be fit. exercise and keep a good attitude towards whatever you have going in your life…

How can I get a flat stomach really fast? Im slim everywhere except I have a bit of a tummy?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

I do have one of those giant balls but dont know what kinds of things to do. I am 5’6 and weigh 135. I am a skinny girl with a gut. I want a flat stomach any advice?

It’s normal to have some what of a "pooch" but "Crunches" work REAL well. Not sure how many sets you can do, but maybe go for it about 3 times a week and do a bunch till your tummy feels sore, when you feel the muscles "pull."

You should notice your tummy flatten quick if you keep up with the crunches over time.

How To Get Six Pack Abs

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

If you work out, learning how to get six pack abs is likely high on your list of priorities. You’ll not only look better if you build six-pack abs, you’ll gain more confidence as well. It takes some effort and willpower to get abdominal definition, but if you stick with the right dieting and exercising program, you will succeed.
If you want to know how to get six pack abs you need to combine diet and exercise to get rid of any extra body fat around your waist. This extra body fat is what keeps most people from getting abs. The key to losing this unwanted fat is to increase your metabolism, or metabolic rate, which is the rate at which the body burns calories for energy.

As far as diet goes, eating 5 or 6 small meals daily is one of the best ways to get six pack abs. The process of eating actually speeds up your metabolism so you burn more body fat. Going on a starvation diet will lower your metabolism and make fat harder for you to burn fat. However, when you eat more frequently you need to make sure that your meals are low in calories. Your meals also need to be nutritious and high in protein. This doesn’t mean that you have to go on an extremely low-carb or low-fat diet. These macronutrients are important for many bodily functions. Just make sure to consume most of your carbs during your earlier meals because they’ll be less likely to end up being stored as fat. You should also have as many natural foods in your diet as possible if you want to get defined abs.

Of course you need to exercise if you want to get six-pack abs. What most people don’t realize is that it doesn’t take hour after hour of exercise every day to burn fat and get into shape. What it takes is high intensity training when you work out.

While cardiovascular exercise will help you burn a lot of calories, you can take it a step further and boost your metabolism by performing your cardio workouts with more intensity. Whether you run, bike, or exercise on an elliptical machine you should do some bursts of high intensity training to get the most out of it. This will allow you to finish your cardiovascular workouts in less time with all of the fat burning benefits. You may have heard that it’s best to do between 45 minutes and an hour of cardiovascular training every day to burn fat and get 6 pack abs, but this isn’t necessarily true. Look at elite sprinters as compared to elite distance runners – the sprinters always look more defined. If you work hard, a cardiovascular workout shouldn’t take longer than 20 to 30 minutes.

Weight training is another form of exercise you must do when you want to know how to get six pack abs. Building more muscle mass will boost your resting metabolic rate so that you are burning extra calories all of the time. The core of your body, which includes the abs, will also get work from stabilizing the body when you are lifting heavy weights. If you weight train with high intensity you should be able to get a great workout finished in 45 minutes or less. When you weight train, it’s best to focus most of your workout on performing the tough, compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts, power cleans, bench presses, pull-ups, rows, and military presses.

If you switch between doing cardiovascular and weight training workouts every other day, you’ll find that it won’t take as much time as you thought to get 6 pack abs. You can also opt to do both one day and rest the next. Whatever the case, you won’t need to spend your life in the gym to get into great shape if you train hard enough.

How to Lose Belly Fat – Avoid These Myths to Lose Belly Fat Effectively

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Many people have the wrong ideas on how to lose belly fat. As a consequence, they get fatter instead of leaner. Then they get frustrated and sabotage their fitness plan. In this article, we’ll unravel the 3 myths you absolutely must avoid if you want to be slim and fit, as well as some effective tips on how to lose belly fat.

Myth: Starving yourself can help you lose belly fat.

Fact: Reducing your food intake drastically is not only detrimental to your health and well-being, but it’s also one way to gain belly fat. Sounds ironic, but it’s true.

Some people endure long periods of food deprivation, thinking that this can help them lose their belly fat. Then when they can’t take their hunger anymore, they binge. This is a surefire way to get that unwanted flab! Your body needs food to continuously be in a “burning” metabolic state. Not eating will only slow down your metabolism.

The best solution is to eat 5 to 6 times a day, but eat meals in smaller portions. This way, your body would be able to effectively obtain energy from the food you eat instead of storing them as body fat.

Myth: Not getting enough sleep can help you lose belly fat

Fact: Not only is it unhealthy, but not getting enough sleep can affect your bodily functions. When your system is not performing properly, your body won’t have the same capacity to burn your belly fat during physical activity as when you have a full night’s sleep. Around 6 to 7 hours is sufficient enough for most people to function properly throughout the day.

Myth: Abdominal sit-ups and crunches is key to losing belly fat.

Fact: Sit-ups and crunches may help strengthen your inner abs. But it’s not the key to ultimately lose the belly fat covering that abs. What use is it to have great abs if it’s covered in a layer of fat?

So what types of exercises should you do? Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

Follow these 3 great tips to lose belly fat – eat smaller meals 5 to 6 times a day, get enough sleep, and engage in cardiovascular and weight training exercises. If you do, you’ll be leaner and sexier sooner than you may expect.

Lose Belly Fat and Get Ripped Abs Eating Junk Food

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Do you want your very own set of chiselled, ripped abs, but don’t have the willpower to stick to a diet? Well, you are in luck. In this article I’m going to explain to you how you can lose belly fat and get ripped abs eating absolutely anything you want, including junk food!

Before I start I want to clear up a common myth. We all have six pack abs right now. Problem is the majority of us can’t see them because they are covered by a layer of fat. This is why doing endless ab exercises don’t work. You will never see your abs until you lose all of your belly fat which is covering them up. Hence, this article will show you how to lose fat and reveal your ripped abs.

I know it sounds outrageous to recommend eating junk food to get ripped abs, so let me clarify. I don’t recommend eating nothing but junk food. That is obviously unhealthy. However, if you want to lose belly fat and get ripped abs you should eat junk food whenever you want.

4 reasons why…

1. HELPS KEEP OUR CRAVINGS IN CHECK

By allowing yourself to eat whatever you want, you are no longer depriving yourself of having anything. This goes a long way in keeping your cravings under control. Let’s face it, the reason why so many of us fail, is because our cravings become unbearable. Usually these cravings are for the foods that we are depriving ourselves from having.

So the key here is, to not deprive yourself of anything. Doing so only encourages your cravings to intensify, to the point that sooner or later, you will succumb to the pressure.

2. IT IS MUCH EASIER AND IT WORKS

The absolute bottom line to successfully losing your belly fat is to simply eat less food than you burn off. Pretty obvious I know, but it’s true. Forget the thinking that a certain food is making you fat, because it doesn’t. Too much food makes you fat!

A calorie is a calorie. There is no difference between a calorie from a carrot, and a calorie from a donut. It is all a form of energy that can be burnt off, or stored as fat if not used. Knowing this, wouldn’t it make sense to eat foods you enjoy? Wouldn’t this make losing fat a hell of a lot easier?

Let me ask you this. Why do you think people lose fat on all different kinds of diets? Because the one thing all these diets have in common is that there total calorie intake is usually less than we need a day. That’s all there is to it. However, the author pinpoints the success of his program down to his very own, special and unique manipulation of protein, carbs or fats, or avoiding this food, and only eating these foods.

So just remember, as long as you eat less calories than you burn off a day, you will lose belly fat and eventually will be sporting your very own ripped abs.

3. EAT HEALTHIER

Believe it or not, but allowing yourself to eat junk food can actually help you eat healthier. This is because it reduces our cravings for junk food. This will result in less binges on junk and may even reduce the amount of junk you actually eat!

I know from personal experience that I eat less junk now then when I was following those strict diets. Eating super strict for a few weeks created such unbearable cravings that I was always bingeing on junk food.

Now that I can eat whatever I want, my emotions are a lot more intact. If I crave something, I have it, but I don’t feel the urge to eat massive quantities of it to make up for weeks of deprivation. I also enjoy eating healthier now, but if I crave a piece of chocolate, you better believe I’ll have apiece. (If not, a week from now I might explode and eat 10 pieces!)

4. CONSISTENCY

You will never lose your excess belly fat and get ripped abs if you lack consistency. You need to able to stick to a program long enough to lose the amount of fat necessary to see your abs. The general rule of thumb is to lose 1-2 pounds of fat a week. Therefore if you need to lose 20 pounds, you want to be consistent for 10-20 weeks.

This is the reason why I recommend eating whatever you want. It will make it a lot more enjoyable, and a lot easier to maintain the consistency required. And contrary to what others may think, it does work. Isn’t it obvious, eat less food than you need and you will lose fat. Simple huh?

How To Lose Belly Fat and Get a Flat Stomach

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

What person doesn’t yearn to lose their belly flat and get a flat stomach? The thing about accomplishing this goal is that it does take hard work and you can’t get a flat stomach from sitting on the couch  watching television and eating potato chips. Don’t get discouraged though, as just making some small healthy changes into your lifestyle, can help you to see some big results in the flat stomach department. Here is how you can lose the belly fat and get your flat stomach of your dreams.

The number one thing that you have to know is that a flat stomach is not accomplished with exercise alone. You need to have a healthy diet in order to lose the belly flat. The reason why most people never see a flat stomach is because they have a layer of fat that has built up over their abdominal muscles. This fat can only be burned off through a healthy diet and exercise. Keeping your body fat low by watching what you eat can greatly increase the chances that you will have that flat stomach that you desire. Try to stay away from processed food and sugars that signal the body to hold onto the body fat that you already have.

Along with the healthy and balanced diet, comes exercise. Some people are just naturally blessed with a lower percentage of body fat, while 98% of the population has to exercise to get a lower body fat percentage. In order to burn body fat you have to do cardiovascular exercise that raises the heart rate and gets your body into calorie burning mode. As mentioned before, if you have a layer of fat over your stomach muscles, you are never going to see the flat and toned stomach that you may have underneath.

If you really want to speed up the process of getting a flat stomach and losing belly fat, then look for workouts like Hip Hop Abs and circuit training that strengthen and tone your muscles while giving you a cardiovascular workout. These types of workouts are able to focus on the abs to get the tight muscles and also get your body into fat burning mode.

If you don’t want to to circuit training or a workout program like Hip Hop Abs, then you can do your cardiovascular workouts and your strength training workouts separately. This will take more time from your schedule, but some people may find this works better for them.

The key to losing belly fat and gaining a flat stomach is not a magical formula. It is actually very simple: regular exercise and a healthy diet.
